It’s the 55th Anniversary of Monterey Jazz Festival (MJF), and on Thursday, March 21, they are coming to City Opera House to celebrate! Hailed as the longest continuously-running jazz festival in the world, the MJF tour features critically-acclaimed, Grammy-winning jazz artists including Michigan native and vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, bassist and musical director Christian McBride, pianist Benny Green, drummer Lewis Nash, saxophonist Chris Potter, and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. The Elk Rapids Zero Hour Jazz Lab Band will add a special touch, opening the night. With shows at 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm, it’s a night you won’t want to miss.
