Jesse Kramer’s debut album “Acacia” is a reflection, a tribute, and a celebration of the Africanisms that shaped Jazz and American music and culture. At the same time, Kramer reflects on his own roots growing up in a Catholic Church choir loft. With “Acacia”, Kramer explores elements of African, Afro-Cuban, and Afro-Brazilian music, and finds parallels in his own musical journey. “Acacia” is a collection of singable, danceable, and emotional compositions that push Jazz forward, while paying homage to its past.
