Tumbao Bravo is a six-piece ensemble that performs the authentic rhythms of Cuba with original jazz harmonies. Winner of the 2005 and 2007 Detroit Music Awards for best jazz and world music recording categories, Tumbao Bravo was formed in 2003 by reedman Paul VornHagen and conga player Alberto Nacif. Their latest recording was featured in Latin Beat Magazine in Los Angeles, the most respected Latin music periodical in the world. They have performed at all the major jazz festivals in Michigan and their recordings have been featured on all the major Latin jazz radio programs nationwide.
